Scenario:  During the a product update the following error message is encountered.

Error in statement #1:

Error occured calling TDBAUtils.ExecSQLUsingIB:

unsuccessful metadata update

CREATE TABLE TEMP_SUMMSALES_ITEM failed

Tabl;e TEMP_SUMMSALES_ITEM already exists

Solution:

We have discovered that Norton Anti-Virus can disrupt our database update process while Norton is sending our exe files to their server for validation causing the above error message to occur.    We recommend that you temporarily disable the Anti-Virus program and then re-run the installer.   After you have successfully updated, re-activate your anti-virus program.
